Unlock Potential with Love, Respect, and Friendship – Join Our Outstanding Team!
Are you passionate about making a real difference in children’s lives within a warm, supportive, and values-driven community? St Peter’s RC Primary School is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our outstanding team and help unlock the potential of every pupil with the keys of love, respect, and friendship.
This is a unique opportunity to work in our popular Catholic school, where every child is celebrated, nurtured, and supported to thrive both academically and personally. If you are enthusiastic, compassionate, and excited about supporting children’s learning and well-being, we would love to hear from you.
About St Peter’s RC Primary School
Nestled in the heart of the Rossendale Valley, St Peter’s is a vibrant, dynamic school with a strong Catholic heritage. We were recently graded Outstanding by both the Catholic Schools Inspectorate (July 2023) and Ofsted (October 2024). Our school community is wonderfully diverse, with 59% Catholic pupils and a rich mix of backgrounds.
Our ethos is underpinned by core Christian values such as Love, Respect, Hope, Truth, Forgiveness, Friendship, Trust, Thankfulness, Justice, and Joy—values we live and breathe every day. These values shape how we welcome, care for, and support our pupils and families, inspiring a nurturing environment where every child can flourish.
About the Role
This is a maternity cover based in Class 1 (EYFS and Year 1). As a Level 2(b) Teaching Assistant, you will work under the guidance of our teachers to deliver structured learning activities tailored to individual and group needs. Your role will be pivotal in monitoring pupil progress, supporting children’s personal, social, and emotional development, and helping create an inclusive and positive learning atmosphere.
You will also provide short-term cover for classes, when necessary, assist with classroom organisation and administrative tasks, and support the delivery of our curriculum, including the use of ICT. Your contributions will directly impact pupils’ achievement, behaviour, and well-being, helping us maintain our outstanding standards.
