Good morning Class 5.
Welcome back to another week of home learning. Remember if you are at home the activities below are what your classmates in school are doing, so try to do as many of these as you can. The times are there as a guide but you can of course complete the activities in a different order or at different times if you want to.
Thank you to those who have emailed me a video clip of your hopes and dreams for the year - some of them will be used in our virtual assembly at the end of this week. If you would still like to send a clip, that would be great.
(by the end of Tuesday at the latest, please)
Well done to all of you who have sent me work so far. Keep sending me photos when you are pleased and proud of the work you have done.
Also, in school this week we are going to revamp our hall display, taking down the Advent calendar and replacing it with one based on the English topic - biographies so please complete the English writing as a typed version on a device (word or notebook app) so you can email it to me on Friday when it is completed and we can print and display.
In maths this week, in addition to the daily lesson work, I am going to set a daily 10-15 min practise arithmetic task - where I will give calculations to complete - as many as you can in 10 or 15 min (you can choose the time you are comfortable with). Please set a timer for this section of the work. On Mondays I will demonstrate all 5 calculations in our live catch up session which will be recorded so you can watch it back in the week if needed. Allow 45 min to complete main maths work (they do not need to complete the whole of worksheets if they run out of time) Aim to see how many questions they can complete in 20 -25 min after watching video or powerpoint instruction. This will allow practise of previously taught maths content and delivery of new maths teaching after that, along with work to check their understanding.
This morning join us for our live welcome at 9.10 by logging into TEAMS and click on the link from your calendar (it will be recorded so you can watch it if you log in to teams later). This morning and every Monday morning will be a longer session as I will extend the session into a lesson. You will need - a pencil and your homework book for this live session.
We will start with our morning prayer and a go- noodle in our live welcome meeting.
9.30 - 10.30 - Maths - Stay on teams for our live lesson. For the live lesson you will need a pencil and your homework book. This will be recorded so you can re-watch it later in the week if you need to. At the end of the live session complete the following worksheets.
