LO: To identify and name parts of the digestive system.
In this lesson we are looking at the digestive system and what happens to the food in our body after it has been chewed by our teeth! We will talk about the different parts of the digestive system and watch a live demonstration showing how the digestive system works.
Attached below are two worksheets to complete after the lesson: one with some answers filled in, and one completely blank so you can challenge yourselves! There is also a digestive system word search to complete if you would like to! I have also attached a fact sheet to learn more about the different parts of the digestive system.
If you finish, you can colour in the diagram of the human body and add an extra information onto the worksheet using the Digestive System Fact Sheet.
LO: To think about different methods of communication.
After this lesson, you should all be able to list a range of different ways that we can all communicate. We will also be learning about the strengths and weaknesses of each method.
Task 1: Firstly, think about when you have played a game of Chinese whispers...
- What happens to the message when it gets back to the sender of the message?
- Does the message stay the same or does it change?
- What are the advantages of oral (speaking) communication and what are the disadvantages?
- What other ways of communication can you think of?
Task 2: Watch the video below. While you are watching, think about the advantages (good things) and disadvantages (not so good things) about each form of communication.
Task 3: On Purple Mash, click on "Methods of Communication" from your 2Dos.
- It is the beginning of a communications mind map.
- Each box that says "Method" should contain a method of communication - to edit this, click on the box and a pencil icon should appear.
- You can then edit the box that says "Advantages" and write all the good things about that method of communication. Repeat this for the disadvantages!
- For example: Oral communication -> Advantages: Quick and easy, Disadvantages: Messages may change after it leaves the sender and before it reaches the receiver!
Task 4: Let's reflect...
- Do you think methods of communication have changed over time?
- What has made this change happen?
- Can you imagine how people might communicate in the future!
God our Father I'd like to say
Thank you for your love today.
Thank you for my family and all the things you give to me.
Guard me in the dark of night and in the morning send your light.
Well done for working so hard on your home-learning activities.
We can't wait to see you all again on tomorrow for our Morning Teams Session!
Love Miss Green,
Ms Bell, Mrs Raja, Mr Webster and Miss Parker.
