Afternoon Lessons 1:10 - 3:00

RE- To learn about the Holy Rosary Prayer.

During the Liturgical Year there are many feast days set aside to remember and celebrate the journey of Mary.  Mary’s journey had joys and sorrows.  Mary was with Jesus during his journey on earth from the beginning to the end.  The Church remembers Mary especially in May and in October and encourages people to pray the Rosary during those months.

  1. Watch the video How to pray the Rosary with Father Matthew Cashmore - YouTube to see how the Holy Rosary prayer is performed. Each set set of ten beads is used for thinking about one of the Mysteries while praying the ten Hail Marys. Each large bead is for praying the Our Father at the beginning and the Glory Be at the end.
  2. The Mysteries of the Rosary show the steps or stages in the life journey of Jesus and Mary. Some are joyful, some sad, some full of light and some glorious.
  3. Choose one of the Mysteries sheets attached (you are not expected to complete them all) and draw pictures to match each event. You can draw these in your book if you don't have a printer.
  4. There is also a Hail Mary sequencing activity to complete as an extension.

PE- 21 Minute Challenge!

Every week I am gong to share a weekly challenge with you that will help you achieve your 21 minutes of continuous activity for the week. This weeks challenge is to design and complete an obstacle course- please see the information sheet attached.

'Rossendale School Sports Partnership' are challenging everyone (children and adults) to remain active and achieve at least 21 minutes of physical activity every day during lockdown. With our daily PE activities we are already achieving this so anything extra is a bonus!

If parents/carers are on Facebook, they can post a photo or video of any activity you've taken part in to achieve the 21 minutes of exercise (this includes this week's challenge work out video). Find 'Rossendale School Sports Partnership (RSSP)' on social media by searching ‘Rossendalessp’ or click on the link:

Tag RSSP in your posts and use the hashtags #21MinuteChallenge #HealthySelfie or direct message them with your photos.

You can find a form to record your 21 minutes of exercise daily on the following link if you haven't done so already:
