Good morning class 3!
I hope you had a lovely weekend and had time to enjoy the snow!
Thank you for working so hard on your home-learning activities, it was great to see all the great work you have been doing over the last week. Please remember, when completing work in your homework books, to write the date/title and present your work in your best handwriting.
Parents- please find below the daily timetable of activities for today. There are links to resources underneath each lesson which can either be printed or completed in homework books. Please email me with evidence of your child's learning at least once or twice a week and send me short video clips of your child's hopes and dreams for the new year by Tuesday evening.
Morning Teams- Welcome Session- 9:10- 9:20
Please join in our live session where we can say our morning prayer, I will share our learning activities for today and we can complete Wake and Shake together. I can't wait to see all your smiley faces! If you can't join in the live session, a recording can be found on the Teams site.

Complete the reading comprehension for your group below. These can either be printed or just write the answers in your homework book. (Don't feel you have to write the questions out too!)
Miss Green's Group- LO: To identify the main characters and use noun phrases to describe a setting.
For the next few weeks we will be starting a new descriptive writing unit based on Roald Dahl's The BFG. You will need to pause the video to complete the writing/sketching activity in your homework books. Try and include lots of descriptive expanded noun phrases.

Spellings/Handwriting 12:00- 12:15
Please find below your weekly spellings and activities. Check the group list below to see which group you are in and select folder's accordingly.
Spelling activity sheets need to be spread out during the week and not all done in today's session.
Miss Green's and Mr Webster's Groups- Complete the first worksheet (underneath spellings list) that introduces the spelling pattern and the speed spell which gives you a chance to test yourself on the new spellings.
Ms Bell's and Mrs Raja's Groups- Complete handwriting practise with your spelling words found in your English RWI folders. (spellings are practised in your morning phonics session)

Afternoon Sessions 13:10- 15:00
PE- Please find below the link to the introduction of the PE session for class 3 - have a go and join in!
Art- LO: To design and create a Roman Mosaic.
Our new topic for this term is 'Cracking Contraptions and Inventions.' Our history lessons will be based around the Romans and we would like you to get involved in creating a piece of art work our hall display!
We are looking at Roman Mosaic patterns in art and there is a power point attached that will give an overview about Roman Mosaics and how these were made.
I would like you to complete one of the attached sheets, by either colouring in a mosaic pattern or you could even cut out and stick different coloured paper squares onto the design. In class we are designing our own mosaic Roman helmets that will be displayed with a photo of each child- you are welcome to do this too or complete one of the designs attached. If you would like to make your own mosaic design please can this be no larger than A4.
Our hall display is going up this Friday 15th January and if you would like your work to be included, you can either email me photos of your completed work or it can be dropped off at the school office this week.
